FLORAL PLACEMENTS - All floral decorations, whether natural or artificial, shall be subject to the Rules and Regulations concerning same as posted in the Cemetery Office. The Cemetery may remove all floral designs (artificial or natural), flowers, weeds, trees, shrubs, or plants of any kind from the Cemetery as soon as, in the judgment of the Cemetery Management, they become unsightly or diseased, or do not conform to approved standards as posted in the Cemetery Office.

Except with the written consent of Management, no flowers, shrubs or trees shall be planted on any grave, lot, way or path. Whether or not such permission is given, the Management may remove any flowers, shrubs, trees or other plantings when, in their judgment, they interfere with proper maintenance or detract from the appearance of the cemetery grounds or buildings. No fence, railing, coping or hedge shall be placed beside or around any burial space, nor, except with the written consent of the Management, shall any vase, seat, rock works, or other architectural objects be installed. No breakable objects, such as shell, toys, crockery, or glassware may be left upon graves.

Cut flowers may be used for decoration of graves when placed in approved receptacles.

Potted plants may be placed on graves and in mausoleum receptacles. Artificial flowers may be used in the main mausoleum and, after October 31st to April 1st, on graves. Artificial flowers are not permitted at Hilltop Mausoleum. Balloons are strictly prohibited.

All flower placements and other grave decorations will be removed weekly during the mowing season. The cemetery will not be responsible for replacing such placements. The cemetery generally mows every 10 days, check with the cemetery office to see when the section you are placing flowers was last mowed for optimum placement time.

The following are prohibited:

Dogs are not permitted on the grounds of the cemetery or in any building.

The cemetery will not be responsible for theft or vandalism of anything placed on graves, or other memorial sites.

No firearms, or fireworks will be permitted within the cemetery except for a military guard or honor and then only when in the charge of an officer and during a military service.

Hunting or disturbing fish or fowl or other animal life upon the cemetery property is not allowed.

Automobiles shall not be driven through the cemetery grounds at a speed greater than fifteen (15) miles per hour, and must be kept on the right side of the cemetery road or in designated parking areas.

Only human remains are permitted to be buried within the cemetery grounds. No more than two human remains shall be interred in any one grave, vault, crypt, or niche. The Cemetery must be provided with advance notice of not less than 24 hours before an interment may be made.

Temporary markers are placed only if a memorial has been purchased and paid in full from RVC. The temporary marker will remain on the burial site for no more than 45 days or until the permanent marker has been set in place.

Smoking is not permitted in any building on the cemetery grounds.

The sale or transfer of any Interment Right by any Owner shall not be binding upon the Cemetery unless same shall first be duly approved in writing and duly recorded in the cemetery office by an authorized representative of the Cemetery. All transfers of ownership shall be subject to a nominal transfer and Deed fee.

All ground interments made within the Cemetery shall require an outer burial container approved by the Cemetery.

MAUSOLEUM CRYPT AND COLUMBARIUM NICHES

We encourage the use of fresh flowers in the mausoleum and niche areas, although artificial arrangements may also be used in the Main mausoleum. Artificial flowers are not permitted at Hilltop mausoleum. Attention should be given to the following:

  1. Be extremely careful in selecting artificial flowers. Some types contain dye in the flowers or ribbons which can run and deface your crypt or niche front and possibly those below.
  2. Do not use arrangements too high or too bulky for the crypt or niche vase. These not only tend to obscure the engraving but may make the vase top heavy, causing it to tip over.
  3. Do not use sand, gravel, etc. in a crypt or niche vase to hold flowers in place. The use of styrofoam is suggested to hold flowers.
  4. Do not use wire to fasten arrangements to a vase. Wire rusts and can stain crypt & niche fronts.
  5. No glass or ceramic containers are allowed in the mausoleum or niche areas.
  6. No arrangements, flags, or decals, etc. may be taped or wired to a crypt or niche front. The tape and decals become unsightly and very difficult to remove.
