Welcome to River View Cemetery!
     We're glad you are here, please visit all of our web pages and get to know us. River View Cemetery is nondenominational and open to every ethnic group.
     Established in 1882, River View Cemetery is the oldest not-for-profit cemetery in the Portland area. Owned and operated by the River View Cemetery Association and governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. All of the Trustees are committed to the cemetery as a result of having family members buried at River View Cemetery.
     Originated by men who would prove to leave their imprint on the face of Portland, River View Cemetery reflects many of the names from Portland's history, names which today mark streets, schools and other landmarks.
     As you drive through River View Cemetery, monuments read like a list of "Who's Who" from early Portland, with such notables as William L. Ladd, Henry Failing, Henry Corbett, Henry Pittock, Harvey W. Scott, Simon Benson, Henry Wienhard, Abigail Scott Duniway, Albertina Kerr and later such people of distinction as Virgil Earp, Lola Baldwin, Dorothy McCullough Lee, Lyle Alzado, Al Rivers III and Pearl Loy Wong.
